pastoralizm ne demek?

Pastoralizm, çiftlik hayvanları olarak bilinen evcilleştirilmiş hayvanların, tarihsel olarak sürüleriyle birlikte hareket eden göçebe insanlar tarafından otlatmak için geniş bitkili açık arazilere (meralara) bırakıldığı bir hayvancılık biçimidir. İlgili türler arasında sığır, deve, keçi, yaks, lama, ren geyiği, at ve koyun bulunur.¹

Pastoralizm, Afrika, Tibet platosu, Avrasya bozkırları, And Dağları, Patagonya, Pampalar, Avustralya ve daha birçok yer dahil olmak üzere birçok coğrafyada yaşam biçimi olmaya devam ediyor. 2019 itibarıyla, dünya çapında 200-500 milyon insan pastoralizm uyguluyor ve tüm ülkelerin %75'inde pastoral topluluklar var.²
